Pumpkin Spice and everything mice

Hello friends, it seems like September came and went, and now in October with Autumn weather in full swing, it's impossible to not think and talk Pumpkin Spice. Particularly since everywhere you turn is reminding you and making you feel as you missing out in life if you weren't drinking Pumpkin Spice coffee, teas or whatever.

While I don't mind cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove not in that order though, I don't quite enjoy them all together, by the way in case you didn't know those spices combined are the famous "pumpkin spice".

What I will say though that when the weather changes so its the vegetation- the trees aren't as full but so beautiful displaying all colors, all the hunters get prepared for their short season to shine and we the homemakers must prepare as well with traps but for the inside of the hoime. Ugh, the only thing that I hate from this season is the fact that mice find their way into your kitchen and then I must become an indoor trapper if there's such a thing.

So for the last couple years, every time I see ads for pumpkin spice is my subtle reminder to set traps and have the broom ready to get the job done.

But one thing I know for sure when I get rid of the few mice then I can say: Pumpkin Spice and Everything nice!

While is hard not to focus on those little things disrupting the peace of my kitchen, I try to enjoy what the season brings even if its pumpkin spice, well not really. For me, I drink Cinnamon tea grandma's style (boil water with cinnamon sticks and a teaspoon of sugar), which is such a treat, and or sprinkle cinnamon before I brew regular coffee.

On that note, what have you been drinking lately? What is your favorite fall season drink?

It's Wellness Wednesday

You will not believe me when I say that I even have to schedule my writing times. Although, at times I thought it would dry my creativity juices instead "Kreated" some expectancy, which is necessary when you are a wannabe writer like me. Following up with the new facet of the business. And since it is Wednesday, and you guessed it, yes, Wisdom Wednesday. I came across this image on Pinterest the pin is from @Ourpeachyhome  and it was my "confirmation" to decide what to share today. What a better day of the week to pause and go for a massage. I'm glad Grandma Boss cultivates this mindset of taking care of you so you can take care of everything and everyone else. Friends as a young mom, student, and part-time helper of the yarn shoppe I believe it to be true! Today I want to remind you to fill your cup. You can't pour out of an empty cup! . If you need ideas on filling your cup, or don't even know what to do to refresh yourself. May I suggest a few things?...

Wisdom Wednesday brought to you by Gertrude.

It's been a while since I came across this idea of Wisdom Wednesday; in all reality, Wednesday marks the middle of the week, and many would say that means a day where feeling overwhelmed by all the demands from the mundane things associated with work, family, and life can be an underestimation. Also, it could be the day when you pause and await the weekend with joyful expectations. I chose the latter. Today Wednesday, marks the middle of the week when my old pal, neighbor, and work's greeter passed away. Today I want to pause from the feeling of sadness for her passing and the empty spot she leaves in the life of her beloved doggy parents, friends, and clientele. I am to pause and reflect on the many times we spent together, Gertrude unique personalit y; she was the star of the shop, and we were her workers. We literally walked together for 11 years, So Gertie, today I chose to remember all the sweetness and spice you carry everywhere you went.  We chose to hold on with joy h...

What is Knitting?

I could be nerdy and give you all kinds of definitions, even pull up Wikipedia, but let's be honest. When you hear the word knitting, do you imagine an old lady holding yarn and knitting needles sitting on a rocking chair? You are not wrong, though! But let me tell ya that anybody can knit and crochet. This craft is not limited to gender, age, or ethnicity. I was a little mind-blown that this summer, a young girl walked in the Shop's door (accompanied by her mom, of course) to check out the different yarn brands Grandma Boss sells, and she sure did buy some good stuff. At the Shop, she saw a hanging basket with several hats. She asked if they were for sale, but those are the "Chemo hats" the knitting ladies make to donate to the local hospital. A few weeks later, she returned to the Shop to bring a hat she made to add to the basket. And that wasn't it. She brought family and friends to buy birthday gifts; a girl, not even ten, with that level of creativity, sense ...
